I wish conservatives would just man up and do something. They keep saying that they are just about to "take things back," or repeal Obamacare, or get Obama out of office. Then time comes to put up they have a longer yellow streak than a stampede of cattle with unstoppable diarrhea.
Certainly unstoppable flatulence as they blow more hot air into the heads of their constituents that seem to think this time it will be different.
You make an excellent point -- It can't possibly be "different" until Harry Reid is replaced as Senate Majority Leader. The House has passed 384 Bills that are sitting on Harry Reid's desk - he won't even allow them to go to a committee hearing.
The American people never dreamed that we would have a Perfect Storm of a Senate Majority Leader who would not allow votes, a President who would claim to be able to circumvent Congress and "make Law" by Executive Order with his 'pen & phone', an IRS, EPA, DOJ, VA, HHS that would "write regulations" to replace law and spend all their time in trying to Cover-Up scandals .... and worst of all
An Attorney General who would refuse to allow investigations and totally politicize his Department.
But .... that's exactly where we are. Harry Reid HAS to be replaced and Nevada can't do it for some reason .... the rest of the States HAVE to step up.
Why do conservatives hate him so much ? Sounds like he is the best example to get your party in power. I would think a float and parade in his honor would be an effective recruiting tool. A smaller group of floats coming in behind with each one listing a broken promise or an accomplishment to his credit. Something festive might work where good old name calling and hate speech fails. Liberals could do the same with their candidates running on their side and it would become the Great Bipartisan Parade of broken promises to the people. Corporations would eat it up and contribute plenty to get their name on a float. People lining the sidewalk when a broken promise float goes by could yuck it up and remark " he he he, yeah, he really gave us a wedgie on that one". Now that's the way to get people interested in candidates and politics and still go home feeling good about life.

The right wing libertarians tend to not be appealing to younger people.
Kind of true but there were young Republican Libertarians who voted for Ron Paul in last election.
Those leaning left just usually just hop on over to the Libertarian Party altogether and dump both
the other two parties
