Obama the failure!

I am not sure whether I am more amazed or concerned to see how so many Americans are prone to such rhetoric and beliefs. Not really a surprise I suppose given all that Obama-the-Muslim, foreign-born socialist that we had to contend with from the beginning. Still..., will we never learn? Then we belly ache even more when we hear our elected representatives uttering the same mind-bending rhetoric? Have we anyone but ourselves to blame? If Obama's two terms in office have been a failure, then most of the administrations before his have been utter disasters!

But let's look objectively at the facts, shall we?

GW left us with an economy on the brink of ruin, and Obama steered us out of the "Great Recession." Oh, but we could have done so much better so much faster, and without increasing the national debt! Kept the American auto makers from bankruptcy, but that was heavy-handed central government intervention! As if that wasn't heavy-handed enough, Obama finally passed healthcare reform as promised! This after how many failed attempts by past presidents? Oh but that's socialism, so not a good thing no matter the additional people now covered. No matter what, that's a bad thing. Got us out of Iraq as also promised. Oh but we still have ISIS, so let's call that an Obama failure too. Obama has many times pointed toward the need for tax reform to address the issue of growing wealth inequality in America. Oh, but he didn't single-handledly manage any real tax reform and income inequality isn't any better. That's another failure even if those who say so the loudest don't really believe this is a problem in need of fixing anyway! Did usher financial industry reform in the wake of the financial crises, but he couldn't manage to get all the Wall Street players into jail and in fact recruited some, so more failure there. No more don't ask don't tell, but that's nothing but political correctness crap that no one really has time for. Managed to win a Nobel Peace prize and restore some of America's international image after the invasion of Iraq had American on just about everybody's you've got to be kidding me list. Oh but if Obama had just let the military win that war for us instead of lead us toward yet another misguided Middle East failure, all would be well now. Ended CIA's enhanced interrogation methods (torture). Oh but that just keeps us from getting important intelligence information that will no doubt cost more American lives -- talk about failure! Tax cuts for small business. Sure, but we still have a looming national debt, totally Obama's doing and failing. No more Gaddafi. But there is still Kim Jong-il! Working with Iran rather than aggravating an enemy into war after decades of friction. But Israel is our ally and doesn't like that! Better relations with Cuba, but isn't Cuba our enemy? Again we court another enemy rather than continue our proud history of successful embargos? No more Osama Bin Laden, but where is the world peace? FAILURE! Now we have people chanting "black lives matter" in the streets and Obama is probably the best spokesman America could have during these troubled Ferguson times, yet we all know that Obama is a "pathological liar." Never mind being specific about those "lies" while we also blame Obama for the state of race relations today!

Failure at every turn!

How long can we wait for Trump to make America great again after all these Obama failures? Oh, we can't!

After all this time, and after all this discussion -- years of it -- if you don't know now, you don't want to know.

I accept your admission that you're confused. And one of the reasons is that you do what too many Americans do -- you always think in extremes; everything to you is either/or.

For any president, Democrat or Republican, it doesn't have to be success OR failure. It's most often a mixed report card.

Take your last GOP icon -- Ronald Reagan, or your last Democrat icon -- Bill Clinton, and in neither case is it success or failure. It's a mixed report card, and the grades on that report card will vary depending on who is filling it out.

Take the example of Richard Nixon. Success: improving relations with mainland China. Failure: Watergate.

Get rid of your either/or, knee-jerk opinions.

phetario you really should pay attention in school. You and Obama both sound like spoiled crybaby children ... they won't give me my way.. it's their fault... It's time for you both to grow up.
The only cry baby I know of is the Speaker Of The House Of Representatives, and he's a Republican.

You're new here and it looks like you expect rational discussion from our right wing pals.

Don't hold your breath. This forum has quite a bit of spillover from sites like Stormfront and Free Republic. You'll see whiny Obamaphobic threads daily with all of the same tired bs repeated daily by the same Limbotomized true believers.

Look at this place as entertainment and you'll probably enjoy it a lot more.

Just sayin'...

From the new comer...

I may be new here, but I'm no stranger to all variety of opinion and logic, from one extreme to the other and all in between.

I agree with those sentiments just expressed about avoiding those extremes and/or the all-or-nothing way of thinking, but of course I know we are a country of extremes and just can't help ourselves; from the most wealthy to the most poor, the best educated to the drop outs, far right to far left...

Who knows where the center really should be or where that perfect fine balance may lie, but no doubt balance is key.

Also no doubt the ignorance makes the truth and balance awfully hard to determine. Therein lies our greatest challenge on the planet - ignorance. All the rest follows; intolerance, bigotry, racism...

Hey, but don't worry about me! I've got no great expectations here...

You'll do fine here, then.

It's pretty entertaining to observe how for some folks, their ignorance is their most prized possession. And they'll fight like hell to keep it.

You haven't heard that "ignorance is bliss?"

Then again, one man's ignorance is another man's common sense. One man's truth is another man's fantasy...

Even our Founding Father's had some trouble understanding one another, so I suppose a bit of that is to be expected no matter what, but somehow they figured out how to come to terms.

Imagine that...

A definite success - and under very difficult conditions made even worse by a GOP who's first (and apparently ONLY) priority was to "ensure that Obama was a one-term President".

History will judge him kindly.
