Over the labor day weekend, President Obama flew to New York on Friday to attend a fundraiser. He also was planning to attend a wedding Saturday night. Since he had no plans on Saturday morning, his team tried to get him on the gold course. Due to the last minute nature of the trip, no club would accommodate him. At that point, the WH cancelled his Friday night hotel reservations, and the President flew back to DC only to return to New York the next day.

On a trip like this, there will be a minimum of four planes making the trip. Both of the 747's will fly (as is typical and SOP for all presidents), a heavy lift jet will take the motorcade and another jet will carry the security team and support personnel. Additionally, he will use Marine 1 (that super cool helicopter) to transport him to and from the White House.

Does this President just not care at all about his carbon footprint? If it was ok to stay in New York for a round of gold, why wasn't it ok to stay in New York to reduce producing that many more emissions?

I'm also curious why none of the AWG crowd or the environmental crowd never call him out on this.

It is hard for people, of either party, to take off the blinders and judge a situation without bias.

This whole sub forum is filled with examples.

HAHA what a joke this concept is just plain stupid. Environmentalists speak up at election time and fund raising times for their organizations they really could care less about the president and or BUSH and or anyone else. UNLESS the media is bored and needs some political juice to throw at the president.
