Isnt training militants what keeps getting us into this mess in the first place? We train them, we leave, they change alliances, we fight them.

People a lot smarter and with more insider knowledge then us have advised the President on what should be done.
As long as our military is not on the front lines I am good with the plan whatever it is.

So true and had we not gotten involved in this quagmire in the first place we wouldn’t be dealing with the after effects of this mess now.

Maybe the former Bush Presidents and their Arab friends in Arabia could assist in the matter, however we still want some of their oil so that makes thing more difficult for the US.

Uh yeah pretty much. Those militants we trained in Afghanistan became the Taliban.

I've said it before but it bears repeating:

WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE TO IRAQ.

For this, you can 100% blame Bush.

Precisely. We never learned the lesson.

Dick Cheney & Rumsfeld provided information for George to think about a number of years ago, maybe they have some answers now to this mess?

I would rather have us train militants than send our young men over there to fight their battles.

And these smart people all have their own political agendas, and their goals are not necessarily what's best for our country. Of course, one way or another, we will be footing the bill. And the arms industries will enjoy lots of tidy annual profits from perpetual war. The United States became a superpower through wars, and it shall remain one through wars. This is a historical fact, and President Obama is no different from any other commander in chief.

"WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE TO IRAQ."..

Yup, we should never have toppled those dictators, because they actually were the dams holding back religious extremism. But of course, we stand of freedom and democracy, and allowing these dictators to stand would be bad for our story line. We also need to make money selling arms to people always at war with each other.
