Place our guy as leader in Jordan. Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, and of coarse Israel.

Oh, for Pete's sake…. more slice, dice and scramble. A dash of truth here, a dash of fantasy there, and a lot of stuff you make up as you go along.
We drew no lines in Iraq. The Brits did, not us.
The CIA did help put the Shaw into power, but there was no U.S. occupation involved. This occupation nonsense is just your weak attempt at deflection.
Our history with Iran began long before the 1970s
The Shaw was not our puppet. if he had been, he wouldn't have been kicked out due to his dictatorial rule. Once he was in, he ran Iraq as he pleased. Yup, we backed the wrong guy, but we never went to war with Iran. For sure, Iran has been rattling their sabers at us ever since, but we still have never gone to war with them.
Egypt? Uh- was Nasser our puppet? Nope. The Soviets wanted him to be theirs, but Nasser told them to kiss his butt after taking the weaponry they gave him. Nasser led Egypt into the first Israeli war, which devastated Egypt. Sadat, who followed Nasser, led Egypt into their second war with Israel with the same results, and decided peace was better afterward. he was assassinated by Egyptian radicals.
Mubareck did the same with us as Nasser did with the Soviets.
…and now, it's anybody's guess. That's why China and Russia are working on Egypt now, trying to gain some favor.
Jordan is ruled by royalty. It's Kings do their own thing, sometimes deciding to fight Israel alongside other Arabs, sometimes not. Jordan is our ally by their choice, not ours. They are a small and relatively weak nation, but our alliance can be cut at any time by their King, and earlier Kings did just that.
Lebanon has been crippled ever since it's 14 year stalemated civil war of the 80's. if it was our puppet, why did Reagan send in 240 Marines, who were symbolically sent to keep the peace and were symbolically slaughtered by one Lebanese faction in the war? The Syrians took over running Lebanon until they decided it was a lost cause, and nobody wants it now, except possibly ISIS. It's the crippled step-child of the Middle East.
…and of course, Israel, the most unmanageable puppet of them all. You're an old Navy man, Bent. Remember the U.S.S. Liberty? I do. I knew a couple of guys who died from the Israeli attack on her.
Some puppets, that bunch. Nobody pulls their strings. No one can, because their strings are far too tangled for any control.
The facts are: We got sucked into the Middle East from our dependence on oil. Period. Americans have billions of dollars tied up in oil all over the Middle East, and there are a lot of Americans who live there, working for American interests. The Middle East holds a gaboon of the world's money, including a lot of ours. That's why we are entangled, and why we can't pick up our marbles and go home.
Being the biggest world power isn't pretty, and it isn't easy. Despite your desire to return to the isolationist policies of 100 years ago, isolation will never happen again.
