Our complete dominance of the air is enough for the time being. We have plenty of time to develop more sophisticated strategies. There are only a few nations in the Middle East who can fly formidable aircraft of their own against ours, and make no mistake, those nations will also put up the most fierce resistance against ISIS is they are directly threatened. The Shieks, the Royalty, and the Prime Ministers and Presidents of those nations are not going to allow ISIS to pull another lightning war that was Iraq on them. Syria has aircraft, but none capable of meeting ours head to head, and Assad isn't going to let ISIS get their hands on them, either.

That applies to tanks, heavy mobile artillery, forward radar mobile stations, and all the rest as well. We'll kill every tank they capture lickety-split.

I agree. I watched the documentary on tank battles and the last one was with Iraq and we devastated them.

The ground held by ISIS would make it a short war if we put in enough tanks to root them out and used with air power they would be eliminated as a threat with small losses on our side.

Wonder why our President has chosen to not take any military advice or anyone else's in that region.

Obama’s America: A Fickle, Disengaged Ally, Refuses To Help Iraq - Downtrend

LETTER: Obama

The entire region is a powder keg. Qatar and Turkey join Iran in the forefront of financing terrorism; Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have launched attacks in Libya; Saudi Arabia has warned of the looming threat; and Egypt, Jordan and most of the Gulf States recognized Israel’s battle against Hamas as another front in the war against Islamic fundamentalism.

Our administration just does not understand the Middle East, and our allies refuse to follow the blind. The emperor has no clothes.

Or the American people are sick of war and meddling....

Your ilk will blame Obama if he does nothing or blame him if he takes action.

This is not a Right Wing meme, it's just common sense.

Why else would you telegraph your punches, spending soooo much time talking about what you wont do?

Polls.....mid term elections....that's why.

Just like setting a timeline for withdraw in Iraq and Afghanistan.

When you make public your plans for no other reason than to improve your standing in the polls with your base, you are setting us up for guaranteed failure.

And that's exactly what he's doing.

Too little, too late air strikes with no boots on the ground lets him have his cake and eat it too politically.
