"She was booked into jail on four counts of felony menacing, seven counts of reckless child abuse/no injury, and one count of prohibited use of a weapon. She was released on a $5,000 bond on Thursday and is due to appear in court on Sept. 19."
once convicted of a felony, she will never be able to own a gun again. Good. what a loon

Absolutely, crazy people should not have access to guns and since we have no way of making sure crazy people can't obtain guns therefore they shouldn't be available period.
Cops say she appeared drunk, do they not test anymore?
I think the legal term is "murder, arson and jaywalk" - once you have an Annie Oakley wannabe booked for lighting up the neighbor's back yard with her trusty rifle, do you really need to slap on "drunk and disorderly"?
Maybe the left realize that they are the problem having unreasonable fears. Mentally disturbed ?
Where I'm from, the people who can't visit a Quizno's without feeling the need to be armed are the ones considered unreasonably fearful. With, yes, an overtone of mental issues. Opinions clearly differ.

I am just not sure how much jail will change an old lady.
A fine....let her make payments.....probation.....and some kind of community service would be better IMO.
You're right that jail will likely not change her.
However, that does not mean she should not be sent there. Others need to be deterred. Anyone who threatens someone else with a gun, other than in self-defense or defense of others, needs to be locked up. Period.
Moreover, even if jail won't change her, that doesn't mean society shouldn't be protected from her.

We'd have no way of making sure crazy people can't obtain guns even if they were illegal. Illegal =/= unavailable.
If guns were made illegal, the people who would have them would be the ones who don't care about the laws in general.
Not to mention the Constitution does not allow what you propose.
Good Grief folks, are you too dumb to see the gun rights supporters are just yanking your chain. Jeeez
As for the actual OP, it is not an example of why people should not own guns, it is on the other hand an excellent example of why guns and alcohol do not mix well.
