Who says they think domestic violence is acceptable?
Nobody. Your straw man is dishonest.
It is not a straw man, it is real. Men when they are boys are taught that they are superior then women, better then women and that women can be pushed around and manipulated. It was not that long ago that women were treated as property, chattel is the proper word. Even 40 years ago women did not have full respect from men, nor full equality. Boys who are raised to treat women as equals and not as inferior to them, treat them better. Boys who are raised to think that women and girls are to be used and strong armed stand a greater chance of being spousal abusers. I saw my mom bet beat and then treated as if it were her fault, then my sister who got married in 1966 did the same exact thing.
You forgot to add ... and pop out a baby with every other man on the street.
Great place to start the reprogramming.
This post show how women are blamed for something that men are responsible for too. It takes two to tango, a woman is not the only one responsible for birth control, yet she is blamed for getting pregnant, when the man can put on a condom to take care of his end.

Seems like the article insinuated that at the start that men are taught to be different than women and that condones their behavior towards women and violence.
[MOD CUT/off topic]
A real man protects women (and children, and animals.) That's what needs to be taught.
