Report: RGIII Told By NFL Not To Wear ‘Know Jesus, Know Peace’ Shirt For His Press Conference « CBS DC

So the NFL didn't have a problem with drug addicts, wife beaters, child beaters, and guys who torture and kill dogs but a player wearing a shirt that says "to know Jesus is to know peace" to speak to the press is not allowed. Though the NFL claims it was because it was not a Nike product, other players were allowed to speak even though they weren't wearing a Nike product.

He likely has a contractual obligation via Nike or the league per nike to wear their product. much like gatorade is always on the tables during the press conferences and the players are only allowed to drink that or other gatorade related products.

Damn I miss the good ol' days when pros were paid to perform at their sport and every second of their off field/off court/off track time wasn't bought and paid for too.

All of those players hurt the image of the NFL and have been or are being punished in some way. What makes you think that they would NOT have a problem with?

Good lord...

Jesus was poor. He don't pay the bills. Nike has the cash.

All hail Nike!

I don't think my company would allow me to wear clothing with religious messages on it were I representing the company at a public press conference.

And Jesus would have a problem with the NFL with its glorification of the military

Players are routinely checked and routinely fined for these things. He's not special.

There are dozens of Christian players who are very open about their faith. Prayer circles are held on the 50 yard line after games. Teams have chapel on Sundays. The NFL doesn't have a problem with Jesus.

Maybe RGIII has a problem following rules.
