I also served in the military. If anyone broke down my door to get inside my home, unless I knew that they were law enforcement, they will leave my home in a body bag. I do not care who they are.
I live out in the boonies, 8 miles outside of Wasilla, AK. Which means that I have more than a few large critters in my neighborhood, requiring me to keep large caliber firearms loaded and handy. So they better think twice before breaking down my door without announcing that they are law enforcement, because their bulletproof vests will not stop the weapons I will be using.
Yes, because anybody really cares what you do up there. You can go back to fantasizing about shooting people now.
The rampant mental illness on this board is astounding....so many people feeling so persecuted and steeped in paranoia.
As for the OP, I think the guy should get off....I feel bad for the families of these cops, but LE needs to start re-evaluating tactics like this.

You are eight times more likely to be killed by a COP in the US than you are by a terrorist, and we are at war with terrorists. Obviously this is the kind of fascist state you and your ilk prefer.

How is saying that he would defend his home with deadly force if necessary considered to be "rampant mental illness" or fantasizing about shooting people?

You have to keep in mind that there are those who prefer a dictatorship police state. It makes them feel warm and cozy just knowing law enforcement is killing innocent people.
It is up to citizens to find such homeowners NOT GUILTY. All over the country mistakes are made in the so called no knock home invasions killing or harming innocent home owners and causing great property damage. The number of such invasions by SWAT teams have dramatically increased over the last few years so we all are now in danger from these military style police units. Ironic that we must not only beware of the criminals but we must also beware of the police.

The DA should not even consider filing charges in this case. The DA should be charged with prosecutorial misconduct for doing so. This is a clear cut case of self-defense. The homeowner was in the right and the prosecutor is abusing the power of his office by charging someone he knows to be innocent.
