Regression and reaction is ALWAYS NEGATIVE it ALWAYS retards progress and it Always greatly benefits a small % of the people at the expense of everyone else. There are no exceptions to this rule in the real world.

Today is the day that Scotland is deciding to stay in the UK or not. After 300 years of union they very well might leave and go it alone. Now, the reason for this has nothing to do with nationalism and in fact the immigrant population is mostly in favour. Do you know why this is the case? The Scots might leave the UK so that they NEVER have to endure another Conservative RWNJ government ever again. It's the main factor fueling the debate.
Eisenhower had a good rep as POTUS.

Still NO excuse to nail the US citizens of Japanese family since the few Chinese here did NOT get stuck in camps. Word was because the AJA's were smart and; many of them were MORE "anglo" in culture than a LOT of anglo white people so it spooked the racist fools.

He did for sure and he was also the architect of one of the most progressive programmes there has ever been in the USA. The building of the US interstate highway system. Ike was actually quite a progressive and you can see that clearly if you read the link.

The Surprisingly Progressive Republican Party Platform…Of 1956 – Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC)

By today's RWNJ throwbacks Ike would be considered to be the worst kind of liberal progressive and not a "Conservative" at all. So, no one has yet to answer the question, has there ever been a successful true conservative president. The answer is NO there never has been and there never will be. They represent a very narrow little % of the people and are disastrous for the rest.

Rather strange the comparisons to present day particularly FDR, he was accused of being a socialist and the supreme court found against his NRA (not what you think) to raise wages for those at the bottom, social security. There was a far greater disparity of income and those at the bottom were beyond anything we have today, both FDR and TR saw the problems with banking and income disparity and addressed them as best they could.

Eleanor Roosevelt was a very good person.

Same difference. Believing yourself to be so intelligent that you should get to make the decisions for other peoples' best interests whether they like it or not is unAmerican and anti-democratic.

Another load of revisionist dung by progressive liars. What is today's interstate system was known under Eisenhower as the National Defense Highway system which was originally planned in 1938 as the Federal Aid Highway Act. After multiple government commission studies, and World War 2, it got it's first funding in 1952 under Truman just before Eisenhower was elected.

Although there may be Republicans who are Progressives, Conservatism is the exact opposite of Progressivism!

I don't know about being a "Prog," but I think he was an impressive guy who provided some critically important leadership to America through two of the biggest crises of the 20th century: the Depression, and the second world war. He wasn't perfect, and nothing he did was perfect...but some of the things were needed. Things were really dire when he came in, and there were some reforms he did that were critical to the rights of people against outsized big corporate interests.

Watching this, what really strikes me is how much that time is like this time. You had conservatives saying the exact same things as they say about the administration today, and you have liberals saying the exact same things back.

TRUTH is absolute - that's what makes it TRUTH.

Solutions may change as circumstances change, but TRUTH will always remain the same.

Solutions and TRUTH aren't necessarily one and the same.

how about the elimination of a woman's choice to have an abortion? How about that rather wealthy donor to the republican party telling women to put an aspirin between their legs for birth control? What about "consensual rape" it how women's bodies have a way of rejecting the rapists sperm? How about the many comments on here alone about mooshelle? Yep I don't see anything misogynistic their no sir! Balanced budget? I'd that what gwb faves us? How about his father? Or st Reagan?
No one has taken away your right to have an abortion, I just don't wanna be forced to pay for it...
