Carnie Wilson married her wife in California and legally took her wife's last name. She, her wife, and their children recently moved to Texas. The good state of Texas now refuses to give her a driver's license because all of the required identity documents have her legal name on it, but the Texas DMV refuses to acknowledge her legal name since the change came about part and parcel to marrying a woman to a woman.
Way to go Texas, deny a person a driver's licence - in other words deny a person the use of the roadways, the ability to buy alcohol, the ability to travel by airplane, etc, etc, etc - simply because that person is gay.

Is this some sort of special liberal mind trick? How does a normal rational person link the reason for denying the Texas license to the fact the the woman is gay?
From the link. Did these women think moving to Texas from CA was going to be a piece of cake ?
Texas does not legally recognize same sex marriages. That is the law and has been the law for some time.

Pure crazy talk from Liberals who wish to paint Conservatives be something evil. Driving a car legally has nothing to do with be gay! No matter what state.

They are denying her right to use her married last name.
She can get a license in her name, just not her new married name because Texas does not recognize the marriage as being legal.
I don't see the problem. Anyone can have the legal name they want. All she had to do is get it changed in an action other than marriage. I'm not saying Texas is right, because it is not. But if she wants a license with her married name, then the remedy is easy. In a very short while, this kind of discrimination will be history as the courts toss it out for what it is.
Texas has always been a backwards discriminating state.
No they holding their ground. Let Texans fun Texas. The problem is reversed. Libs want to push the Idea being gay and everything else on people. I do not care and I do not want to know my neighbors business either!

No one denied her a drivers license. They denied issuing her a drivers license under an alias, which is illegal in every state in the union. Not just Texas.
They issued her a drivers license in her "born sir name".
Don't come from California and try and change Texas to California!
