He raised the money to travel there and provide this charity: no taxpayer money was used. It's such a great gesture, particularly for someone who hates the poor.

No, someone serves the people who need help, out of the kindness of their heart.

He's been doing this and similar things for years now.

He has being doing that most of his medical career. Not traveling to other countries, well I don't know how frequently, but he provides or has provided a large amount of free and discounted treatments over the years. I want to say Lasik and cataracts ( don't quote me on it)

Your statement makes no sense whatsoever. If he hated the poor, he would't be doing this.

Liberals say conservatives hate the poor. I think he was being sarcastic.

A hell of a lot of conservatives ARE poor, so they'd just be hating people in their own ranks.

I love how the liberals are disappointed by this.

Who's disappointed? Personally, I'm indifferent about charity work. I do think that it is a pointless endeavor. Give a man a fish and you fed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you fed him for life.

All these chronically poor nations need to learn to help themselves. Billions have been poured into charity and foreign aid and little has changed.
