They were traveling to raise awareness about the spread of the deadly Ebola virus. Instead, it seems, they encountered violence. Eight people on an Ebola team were killed in southeastern Guinea, near the country's border with Liberia, a government spokesman said in a statement Thursday. Among them were health care workers and local journalists.

And we're sending US troops to help these people? And this is their reaction to assistance? Any money spent will be wasted. The answer is to isolate the outbreak areas and let the disease burn itself out as it has with smaller outbreaks in the past. What makes it dangerous is when carriers travel out of the affected area, and the way to minimize that is to cut off all travel in and out until the outbreak is over.

The US is going to spend tens if not hundreds of millions on this effort for what?
