As long as you come here, get a job and pay taxes...I don't give a damn whether you assimilate or not

That's none of my business.

Exactly. Anybody complaining that the Amish speak their own language and do not culturally assimilate even after a couple of centuries they've been here? No. Nobody sane at least.

Then of course blame everybody else for the failure.

Those people who came here did NOT come here to get handouts. They came to work, and work they did. Very, VERY hard, because such opportunites to work did not exist where they came from. And they fully understood that it was the things they valued in common that made it possible.

They were farmers, steel mill workers, miners, loggers, dairymen and 10,000 other things, all of which were about WORK. They did not come here to force others to learn their language, or to get entitled education or food or housing. They came, not with wealth, but with a willingness to risk work for a reward. The belief in risk and reward, and that your reward would not be taken from you is what they all had in common.

And I know this, because my family came here for those exact reasons. And they shared those with others unlike them - and THAT is what made it work. THAT is what you and all liberals today decry with a fanaticism that scares any rational person.
None of you know what the hell you're talking about...you're spouting revisionist b.s. about European immigrants and immigration.

European immigrants held FIERCELY to their languages and customs.

For example, the apex of German immigration was around 1870...they'd poured into this country by the millions over a century.

So then why in 1914, at the dawn of WW1, were there 700 German language newspapers in circulation in this country...over 45 years AFTER the apex of German immigration?

So please...chill with the flowery lies and embellishments about European immigrants.

Curious question: are you ok with self segregation? The most segregated school systems in the country are in deeply blue states and I find that unacceptable since these states thrive on diversity.

Isn't that what being a liberal is all about? Everything that stands for tradition is bad and anything that is different and shocks and disgusts average people must be good?

I really wish these liberals would forgive us for choosing them last on sports teams and not asking them out on dates. These angry, bitter people are really a bummer.

The kind of freedom loving American who wants to keep that freedom, because it was the American culture that created and nurtured freedom. It's common sense. When you encourage someone to move to your nation without assimilating and then give them the right to vote, they aren't going to place any value in the constitution when they vote. You can see this already in Europe where they welcomed Muslim immigration with all the same moron leftist "tolerance" that you liberals espouse here. The result was the Muslims importing Sharia law with them instead of following the existing laws of the country they live in. Multiple heads of state in Europe have declared multiculturalism a failure and dangerous.
