In 2015, the SCOTUS will most likely rule that all these same sex marriage bans are unconstitutional and it will be legal in all states. And it's hilarious that you believe "individual liberty and freedom" means YOU get to decide who gets which rights
All people should given the same rights. I have no problem with gay-marriage or gay people adopting children. My problem with LGBT-groups is that they do not want to support other peoples way of life.

Since government got involved in the marriage business, they can only give you permission.

I do not think marriage should be regulated by government.
If we did away with civil marriage, which would you do first:
Deport all the foreign born spouses of Americans who came to the US under spousal green cards
or
Throw all the military wives out of base housing and rescind their ability to shop at base commissaries
