Get the doctors out of the insurance business. When they file you don't have a clue what your cost are going to be.

If you filed after the treatment, you may shop around for the value you wish, before the procedure takes place.
The complications would be the difference. Doctor gives you a price, so complications come out of his pay and cost, because he under bid the work.
Bet you never been in a car wreck and been airlifted a hundred miles away and then woke up three days later and then a month later looked at the bill. By the way if the wreck is your fault which it will be 50% of the time you pay...not the other guy. There isnt any bidding while you are unconscious...you have your insurance company to look after you. The conservative position of Free Market Health Care doesnt exactly work if you in a major accident.

Is that something foreign to you buying health insurance?

Medicaid patients pay nothing at all. This doctor would simply bill the government for the leeches.

I have had emergency surgery before.

Doc was $1800
Anesthesiologist was $550
Emergency room was $3300(separate from the hosp)
Hospital surgery & recovery room, along with all "supplies was $20,000

My insurance paid 80% after deductible.

So even with insurance, I paid about $9000.

It was my choice which hospital to go to out of the 10 in the area.
I went for less wait time, with higher cost.

You really are the poster child for the party of no personal responsibility. Other than your insane Tea Party fixation how is this ANYONES fault but his own?

What have you said about it that is of any use? It happened despite regulations. I've shown that even under the government programs there is huge over billings.

Do you have an answer?

If he had been on Medicare the bill would have been a fraction of what it was...So Tea Party-Conservatives how do you convince Americans that a $117,000 bill is a small price to pay for freedom.

Obama and Obamacare caused this. Everyone was happy and the system worked perfectly before Obama came along.

Have you ever bought any kind of insurance? If one ever has a big claim (death, bad auto accident) it's quiet likely they receive more than they have paid in. That is the nature of insurance.

Insurance companies invest heavily, which is how they pay the claims. They 'put the money to work,' so to speak. They do not just put it in a sock. If they did, they would be bankrupt upon paying the first claim.

I'll bet you don't have a problem with other government "wealth transfers" though, do you, like from those who earn to those who would rather live off welfare payments? That's okay in your book. Right?
