Low income childless adults qualify. Marital status has never been a consideration. Now, your state may not have expanded Medicaid, but that is a state choice.

No. The SCOTUS ruled that states could not be forced to expand Medicaid. TX and several other states sued over the Medicaid provision because the law forced them to expand or lose all Medicaid funding. As it stands, only a couple of southern states have expanded Medicaid.
I should move then. Can't do that, no relocation funds.
