For those interested I posted the link. The breaks are not keeping up with the taxes.

Your link is to a communist, anti-capitalist site....Below is their mission statement...

Ecosocialism Canada does not pretend to be impartial. This is a partisan project, written and edited by people who strongly believe that an ecological revolution is needed, and that no such revolution is possible within the framework of the capitalist system. In John Bellamy Foster’s words, “There can be no true ecological revolution that is not socialist; no true socialist revolution that is not ecological.” But the concrete and complete solution of the problems of socialist life can be given only by communist practice: discussion in common, which sympathetically modifies consciousnesses uniting them and filling them with working enthusiasm. To tell the truth, to arrive together at the truth, is to achieve a communist and revolutionary act.” http://ecosocialism.ca/sample-page/

I backed up their accusations and you didn't dispute anything they claimed.

Reading in between the lines, it seems you two are deflecting again, and want to get away from the uncomfortable subject of carbon tax.

I did, but I guess it was hard for you to see it with your head buried so deep.

The tax hasn't outpaced the credits for the poor?

There is nothing uncomfortable about BC's carbon tax....Most folks here are in favor of it.

The survey found that 64 per cent of British Columbians support the carbon tax as a way to fight climate change, which is the highest level of support recorded by the institute since the carbon tax was first announced in February 2008. In addition, the institute found that the proportion of people strongly opposed to the carbon tax has dropped to only 17 per cent. Comment: Support for B.C.

What has led Australia and British Columbia to reach such divergent conclusions about their respective carbon taxes? Do British Columbians just enjoy getting taxed more?
The answer to the latter question is “no.” BC residents are now taxed less than they were before the carbon tax. In fact, the two carbon taxes are wildly different, with strikingly different impacts on business and the public. No it hasn't. In addition to credits, the poor have the largest income tax reduction.

Since it was instituted in 2008, the carbon tax has tripled from $10 to $30 per tonne, while the low-income tax credit has grown by a fraction of that – from $100 to $115.40.

While the U.S. currently has the worst record on income inequality, the gap is growing in Canada at a faster rate and, within Canada, the trend in B.C. is much worse than in most other provinces.
