My response was about a rejection of Rice as Rutgers graduation speaker.

WTH are you talking about.

What a lovely way to clarify. I was referring to the actual school in the topic, sweetie.

The whole Mumia cult is pretty stupid to me. Almost as stupid as the forced outrage the right wing cuture police exhibit whenever his sorry name comes up connected to a handful of sorry 20 year olds.

Jailed Cop Killer Is Picked as Graduation Speaker - ABC News

It makes the thread more credible if the OP reads his own linked story.

The guy isn't speaking at the graduation. They're going to play a taped statement, since he graduated from that same college.

FYI...

It's probably to counteract killer cops that speak at college graduations.

The 'appearance' will be by tape only. The cop-killer is serving life and can't get out to attend the ceremony. The same thing happened a few years back at The Evergreen State College, a state college here in Olympia, WA.

It's a hippy-dippy, loony-lefty school, and the school in VT sounds a lot like TESC.

A bunch of us showed up at the 'speech' by Mumia to protest. I remember one of the protesters had built a mock electric chair with a sign reading 'Ol Sparky' on it. Can't remember the rest of the message, but it was something to the effect of 'have a seat, Mumia.'

Well, I went to a state public university...So I'm in no position to be snobby about someone else's degree.

Maybe you went to Harvard.

More than likely, since some seem to have a major chip on their shoulder when it comes to law enforcement, something I have found usually is an indicator of those that have had a run in with the law and lost.
