There are issues that come with raising a bi-racial child that would not be present with an all-white/non-bi-racial child. Looks to me like once the realities set in, it was a different story.
This is bad to say but: "mixed race" usually means a Black and white kid like the POTUS. Other mixes like white and Asian, not so much. Most Hispanic people ARE mixed race out of the box so a Chicano dude having a kid with any other race; no big deal, even for "storm front" kind of white racists and la raza.
The money she receives from the law suite will allow her to provide a better life for her daughter.
Down the line, the daughter asks the Mom where all the money came from or she finds out anyway and says "so if I was white you'd be happy with me. Otherwise why sue?"
It's not worth the money to do that to your own daughter.

You seem to be the first poster to notice the two prospective parents are gay! Also this is an out of wedlock birth because Ohio doesn't recognize gay marriage.
This is absurd. At least you have a child. The people in her community need to grow up.

1) there was a breach of contract. So I agree she should be compensated for the error (at a minimum, a refund);
2) it appears to me she is genuinely concerned about the welfare of her child. So this isn't about a distaste for the child - rather it is about the situation; and
3) she should move. It is fortunate that she recognizes that the problem is the environment around her and not the child.
With that said, unless she plans to use the money to relocate, I don't see how financial compensation will remedy the situation.
