There are 7,191 cases of Ebola now in West Africa. Over 3,286 have died.

There is a world population of 7.1 Billion people on our planet. How are you going to prevent ALL of those people on our planet from visiting other countries, mixing in with the world population, desperate people getting into the U.S., such as the Liberian. People will get desperate to get help.

What are the odds that this jumps countries? Well, first it was W. Africa and now it's in __________

This could get pretty "ugly." The end of our lives as we know it... "a.k.a: as in "we are doomed"...unless somebody can figure out how to not get infected (actual-not hype) and eradicate this disease...

That indirectly what from Africa? That takes off from an airport here an African connection can be made? That's - well, every major hub.

To be discovered - how?
All of the ways have been discussed. Some people just refuse to accept them.

The FAA can easily suspend inbound flights from Liberia to the US and can easily track passengers originating from Liberia. I don't know if that's justified yet, but it would be a politically wise move by the president- especially as flu season arrives and everyone runs to the ER when they get sick.

I am not the one suggesting that we have the authority to impact O-D traffic that never touches American soil. What kind of straw man are you trying to build?

Of which there are none.

All of the ways mentioned so far are completely impractical.

There are between 300,000 and 500,000 people carrying Lassa Fever in Africa, and at least 5,000 die from it every year, just for perspective. Lassa Fever is a hemorrhagic fever like Ebole. But unlike Ebola, patients can be contagious without symptoms. Its infection vectors are much the same, yet Lassa Fever hardly ever moves beyond the index patient in first-world countries. So - chill.

It's your fear and desire to behave irrationally that dooms you.

All your news reporters, business people and citizens already there would be marooned over there were you to perform this nonsense.

Allowing entry but requiring quarantine would be a less reactionary requirement.

You've got a confirmed case of Ebola in your Dallas hospital now with a couple more KNOWN cases coming back from Africa to receive treatment.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling; we've got to ban all flights originating in the U.S. as America is now infected! Cripes! Your business and entertainment community would be squeeling like stuck pigs if the world treated you that way.

"We're not letting that Chin-meister Kerry into our country to discuss diplomacy 'cause he might have Ebola along with his four ton ego".

C'mon people get a grip ..... The land of the free and home of the brave......remember?

Passport stamps are not unreliable, nor are flight itineraries.

And 95 percent of Ebola carriers hold passports from a small number of countries n Africa.

You could prevent 99% of the infected from entering America or from boarding a flight to America.

As an alternative, we could route all passengers who have travelled from or to infected countries to Vermont and treat them there at that state's expense.
