Every job tries to hide their mistakes.

Someone messed up and that person has heck to pay.

The new person does well for the time being.
The private sector pays anyone with SS on their resume, very well.

Maybe its time for another change? Take the part of secret service responsible for protecting VIPs out of Secret Service / Homeland Security and make it part of the military. It seem like these guys could use some discipline...

Never ordered to " stand down" according to the bipartisan report and testimony. Here's Fox News on the topic:

Dismissing GOP lawmakers' claim, officers say no 'stand-down order' given in Benghazi attacks | Fox News

You may also notice that there was and remained a lot of uncertainty if the military in Tripoli could have made a difference.

Actually, according to the USCON, the president is the highest ranking public SERVANT, one step DOWN in status from the lowest American sovereign.

However, since the majority of Americans volunteered to be subjects, it would appear that the president is the "leader" of the multitudes. But that was not always the case.

A hundred years ago and more, people knew the difference.

An example of the lost knowledge of our forefathers comes from “The Devil’s Dictionary”, by Ambrose Bierce, a collection of humorous definitions, originally published in a weekly paper starting in 1881.
Apparently his audience knew what he was writing about, though today’s reader would not.

ALIEN, n. An American sovereign in his probationary state.

(download available from gutenberg.org)

His audience knew what an “American sovereign” was, to understand the joke.

Today, the "joke" is on us.

Sounds good on paper. I suspect inter agency politics would not be pretty.

How about firing the actual people responsible for dereliction of duty?

Sound good on paper. Who's going to objectively find those responsible and fire them?
