Methodology: education, jobs, income, safety, health/mortality rate, environment, civic engagement, accessibility to services and housing.
I agree that opinion and preference can affect one's perspective, but based on the above, I doubt that what we may disapprove about another region would qualify our homeland as superior quality in general.
These "10 Best lists" on best places to live are dumb. It all depends on your point of view and what you make as a priority. Folks who hate cold weather would never take this list seriously.
I agree. If there was a state that was composed of all white bunkers with gun ports, a lot of people would think that was the ideal state to live in. Many would have C-D accounts.
Yes. We all know we never twist numbers to prove our own bigoted points. I mean voter turn out is so important to quality of life.
How dare they base their numbers on things that matter like education, jobs, income, safety, health/mortality rate, environment, civic engagement, accessibility to services and housing.
How dare they lie about those numbers make the south look bad! They must be leftist pigs!
When mentioning the "greatness" of the south, I'd rather point to good infrastructure, low poverty, quality education, scientific achievement, low crime, etc... instead of the tired cliches about the "slow pace of life" and "community spirit", both of which are debatable and in common with tribes in Sub-Saharan Africa. At some point we should place an emphasis on improving our quality of life.
^^this.
"slow pace of life" in the SE also translates to no infrastructure. One of the top ten "dirty secrets" of the amerikan south. lol.
quality of life = banning books even in private high schools in the south, like "To Kill a Mockingbird" in 2014.
Yes, indeed quite an accomplishment. Just glad my kids never went to school here.
