Welfare is NOT EASY to get. Trust me. My father lost his job and due to age and health problems (severe diabetes, heart problems, etc) he has been unable to find another job. He can't find a job in the corporate world that he worked in for 30 years because of age and a lack of college degree, or he's "overqualified" for anything that would give him a 2nd glance. Due to the other health issues, he can't get a job standing like working in a restaurant or retail and there is nothing else in the area for him. Once unemployment ran out 5 years ago, my family has been stuck. Yet despite that it's a family of 4- including 3 people with severe health issues and one minor- on a $16K a year paycheck, my family qualifies for no kind of aid. Even when our medical bills are over $5000 a month and we just got dropped from our insurance (yet don't qualify for government insurance). I'm not saying that we should look for handouts, but after 30 years of giving his life to work and saving meticulously, my family is in debt up to their eyeballs just do to medical care. We're not the only ones we know in very similar situations.
Then your father is one of very few. And he seems to be just the kind of man that really needs it. It sucks that he put so much of his life to taking care of his family and the system has turned its back on him. I hope he gets all the help they offer.

No.

That's not what I wrote and that's not what I meant. The companies I cited depend mostly, if not exclusively on government contracts. And those contracts have been awarded in recent years under no-bid conditions in far too many cases.

And let's take this corporate welfare issue one level deeper. Awarding tax incentives for companies to lay off American workers and move their operations to Red China is an extremely poor policy, if one is entrusted with acting in the best interests of the United States, as our elected officials are pledged to do.

But it's VERY favorable to corporate interests.

As opposed to people who sit on their butts and just get fatter spending my hard earned money?

Yeah, it's exactly the same thing.

To those who lack discernment.

People who own a vehicle valued at more than $6,650 are ineligible for food stamps. People with net incomes of above $1,721 per month (for a family of four) are ineligible for food stamps. (Try affording the nice fur coat and a Coach bag on that.) The food stamp benefits for a family of four earning that net $1,721 a month are $26 a month. Not going to cover a cartful of candy-baskets at $20 a pop.

Bottom Line: You made this crap up, just like all the other Whiners who post such tales of welfare fraud and abuse that they have "witnessed" at the grocery store. But in case the day ever comes when you actually DO observe a case of welfare fraud and abuse, here is the number at which to report it in Ohio...1-800-627-8133.
What is your problem? This is not the only time I have seen this type of stuff happen, the lady buying bulk hambruger to feed her dogs is another one.
The lady who bought the candy used a card to swipe and it wouldnt work at first and the clerk had to tell the stupid woman she had it is backwards.
Dont you dare call me a liar, you must be on weflare yourself and suck the benfits yourself or you wouldnt be so defensive.

Heck no the welfare scum I see arent smart enough to go to college, they are 3-4 generations that have been taught how to legally steal from the rest of us.

These people have figured out a way around your system, this lady was driving a very expensive vehicle then she had figured out a way to do it.

I know first hand from a man who was a social worker, a supervisor who has told me horror stories about how they abuse the system, he has told me they put everything in their parents name so it appears they have nothing and get benefits. he has since left the job because his life was threathened for not allowing someone benefits when they have turned down every job they found him.

Same guy told me they spent tons of money on vans to haul thiese lazy butts to job sites, he said it was mandatory, he said the first couple days the bus was full, then half full then no one was getting on the bus. When he went to cut off the benefits his boss told he he couldnt unless they got an ok from the top.

The laz bags wont even take tech school classes to better themselves for free.

Same ole same ole, they all need a mental and physical, if they pass send them to pick the fruits, clean the floors, pave the roads, all those jobs no one else wants to do.

The answer is to stop welfare completely. Only those who have REAL health issues get it.

That money should be spent on seniors who have earned the right to these benefits.

Well said.

No work..... no food, no cell phone or wide screens, nothing.

Corporations is what makes us tick in this country, only the jealous people who see CEOs making tons of money dislike them. Those are the same people who want to see them pay more taxes and yet want and defend the welfare lazy butts as they deserve a handout.

We all pay higher prices for everything every time one of the loonies think they need to be penalized. A company cannot grow and hire more people if you think they need to pay more taxes.

WE WOULD HAVE A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THE SYSTEM IF TWO THINGS WOULD HAPPEN.

Force welfare toters to work and "pay inot the taxe base"
Remove all illegals who are draining us dry and who work for cash and pay no taxes.

See what people think of this one

Welfare was NOT INTENDED AS A LIFETIME BENEFIT !

We are now seeing 4th generation families on welfare, hows that for stealing from us that pay taxes.

And a lot of times, they are awarded to the only company that is capable of doing the job in question. While I disagree with no-bid contracts in general, at times it's a necessity.

And the reason it's more profitable to ship jobs overseas? Overregulation by the government in the first place. When it costs a company $30/hr to pay a guy $12/hr here in the states, it's a no brainer. In the end, yes, a company is in it to make money...what is wrong with that?

Sure.

It's obvious that you're a Bush apologist, and that none of his clearly damaging acts/policies resonate with you. Enjoy your stay in Neoconvile. I think your lease is almost up, though.

lol, wow. I've never been accused of that before. But since I'm new here and you probably haven't had a chance to really get to know me, I'll fill you in a bit.

First, I'm not a huge Bush fan. He's not nearly right-wing enough for me. He has done a few right things (war on terror and tax cuts to name a couple), but until he tells the UN to shove off, seals the borders, deports the illegals, restores gun rights, and a few other things, I'm holding off on sending in my application for the Bush Fan Club.

Second, you obviously didn't see my post in another thread about Neocons. It's a sad day in America when John McCain and Rudy Guliani are considered the "conservative" candidates.

McCain and Guliaini both would make better lib candidates then what goofs they have now. I will not vote for either one if they get the nod. They both are looney libs in pretend wana be like a rep world.

I like it when libs come after anyone who is rep with the neocon crap.

I get nailed everytime on other boards when I call the looney libs a socialist commis, but then it is ok to call us neacons.

Maybe neo commi freaks would best fit the libs party.

Any party that aligns themselves as friends to the UN tells me they what they are made of.

My new bumper sticker.

Don't blame me I didn't vote for those moron looney libs
