There are easier ways than the Mexican border if someone is trying to sneak into the US.
Easier is a relative term. I'm sure you know people who do things the hard way. Nice to have alternatives though like the southern border if your student visa doesn't work or you can't get into Canada.
The fact there is a chance even a remote chance that terrorists can come across the border is reason enough to secure it. Not on top of the fact that millions of illegals have been crossing it for decades and somehow thats not enough.

The fact is we've rolled out the red carpet for them. Big business wants the cheap labor and Democrats want the ever-important dependent voter base.
In the end, it's Joe Taxpayer that takes it up the ying-yang.

Why not enlighten us about how you 'secure' the 2,000 mile southern land border (note that 770 miles of fencing has been built to date, at a tremendous cost), as well as the 'water border', and let us toss in the 4,000 mile northern border (excluding Alaska) with Canada.
It is easy to yap about 'secure our borders!', but it is rather difficult to put into actual practice.

Well, we spend over $100B a year on illegal immigration so I'm pretty sure we could come up with something.

CNN usually takes 2-3 days to report on things... so, not surprised they haven't picked this up yet.
they did a segment this morning basically saying it was pandering to the base and it is irresponsible of Hunter and Cruz... cnn? yeah .. not like we would be irresponsible to have open borders and such

Securing them against terrorists may be difficult but securing them aginst illegals is simply a matter of making it undesirable to come here. Immediate deportation ,stronger criminal sentences for those that employ them etc.
Reduction of the illegals will also make the job of identifying the truly dangerous elements easier.
