Stop it please. I'm gonna say ALL countries fought over land, water, women and so on. Not just England and Spain; if that bothers you, take it up with them, NOT the US, Canada or LatAm.

Too, word was some of the things the different American Indian tribes did to each other even before 1492 weren't real nice.

You know people living in what use to be Mexico didn't just stop living there, they became US citizens.

White people? Why don't you just say some Europeans came here? Why the reference to race? Those people are all dead now and in fact many from south of the border's ancestors were the Spanish conquistadores. Their blood is coursing through their veins. So why whine about the past?

It's not about skin color. It's about retaining our identifying culture and language and not losing it via illegal immigration or unassimilation by same group. We aren't a Hispanic country in identity even though many Hispanics live here. They are already dominant in 22 countries on the Western Hemisphere. Isn't that enough? What's next, Canada?

People speaking another language is going to make you lose your identifying culture and language? There are 58 English speaking sovereign states, and 21 non-sovereign states that speak English...isn't that enough?

Your clue is "used to". And who is this "we" you speak of? Those people are all dead now. The U.S. government fought a war and paid Mexico 15 million for some of the southwest. Throughout history wars have been fought and lands have exchanged hands. Why should people who weren't even alive back then be disgruntled over something that happened when they weren't even alive? The only reason they want part of the U.S. back is because they can't seem to make a success out of their own country.

The Mexicans that were living on that land that was given to the US after the war all became American citizens. Their Mexican ancestry are still tied to that region to this day.

Along with the bleeding heart liberals and the ethnocentric racists who think their group should be above our immigration laws. I'll drink to that and I don't even drink.

Uh; MOST "Mexicans" way back the day in Cali were usually of Spanish family and, are a part of the anglo white world in 2014. MOST Mexicans in Cali now are either legal or illegal aliens. Then we've got the Chicanos tho I'll bet some real money THEIR ancestors went to Cali AFTER 1848 so they DON'T have any stronger claim than people of Irish and so on family.
