Default If the Shah of Iran or Saddam Hussein were still alive and in charge I bet radical Islam wouldn't be a problem

That's the gist of it. Elder Bush had enough common sense to realize that the removal of Saddam and the power vacuum it would cause would lead to chaos.

Where Bush 1 sorely failed at was supporting the Kurds and the opposition of the regime, if he had done that the situation would be vastly different now.

That said Obama is STILL clueless on how to deal with the issues at hand.
