It wasn't so long ago that the question and controversy was would you vote for a Catholic President (Kennedy) and would you vote for a Mormon President (Romney).
Catholics are Christians and Mormons consider themselves as Christians. They both fall under the Christian umbrella regardless.
I would vote for a non-extremist Muslim provided their political stances were close to my own. Religiousity is not really factored into my vote (unless they are extremists which includes all religions).
For what it's worth I'm an Atheist and liberal on most issues.
edit: I'd also vote for a lesbian black Muslim transexual turned Atheist who's also a Jew lol
So you'd vote for another person who doesn't have a clue how to lead, but as long as his sexual preference meets your criteria...
The NO vote is winning as of now, but the results for YES are very disturbing (as in, I can't believe anybody would even vote YES to a Muslim). Are we that serious?
This type of post is why I will never feel safe in this country as a Jew. I keep hoping society will prove me wrong, but when so many people would not vote for someone based on their religion or ethnic background, I just have to hope that the mentality will die out before I bring children into the world.
i have read the quran 1.5 times.
islam a group of people that if they have their way will overthrow the united states government. they are openly hostile to christians and jews and call for their extermination. (chapter 9 section 2 quran)
should i vote for them and make them our leaders????

It calls for the extermination of unbelievers and infidels.
Democracy doesn't work in a Muslim world.
Just as Islam doesn't work in a democracy. It goes against many of their beliefs on the roll of people in an Islamic state.
