People from those countries have always had the same ability to come here as anyone else. The idea is clearly a response to the virus. Even if you say it's not about the virus and is against the country, there is no racial distinction made about who from the country is restricted - all races would be. This is the most absurd claim I've read in quite some time.

If there's no proper protective equipment they should refuse the assignment en masse.

Let the CDC staff the Ebola rooms.

I agree that a temporary visa withdrawal and travel ban is appropriate. Even though there has only been one death at this point preventing unnecessary potential deaths is the goal.

So what do we do about the 30,000 gun deaths that occur in the country each year? I'd expect a proportional response.

Again the people who can afford to come here from those places and get visas are people that can go to another nation then come to the US.

This doesn't actually solve anything other than to stigmatize. But that's the goal of conservatives.
Ahh "racist". The most powerful word in the English language. A word so powerful it causes entire societies to be willing to commit virtual suicide just to escape it's mighty grip.

They may not even need a full visa ban but rather a more intensive screening process. If they did this it would be a temporary thing, until things settle down in regards to ebola. The fact that they have done NOTHING on this front is very telling.

Nope it's about the racism.

conservatives love saying typing we should ban west Africans. It rolls off y'all's tongue, sort of makes y'all giddy inside.

Oh it's so exciting isn't it.

I get to say I want to ban Africans from coming here without admitting my racist leanings grwAt and while attacking that Kenyan President Obummer, that's a win win for conservatives.
This is so incredibly ignorant. Do you really believe this?

The screening would take 21 days.

Look, there is no way a sane person is going to really think they are going to get Ebola if a few individuals from the West African nation's come here.

There is no way someone believes we are seriously in danger of an Ebola epidemic becausse of less than 5 people.

It's all about the racism and saying let's ban Africans from coming to America.

conservatives love saying that racist crap.

I have found when people are being irrational and crazy and extreme usually it's about religion and in this nation race. And since religions got nothing to do with it, racism it is.

That would be fine. I think it's a comfortable median between denying visas all together and taking the threat of ebola seriously.
