Obama withdrew troops TOO LATE...not prematurely. They should've been withdrawn the second he took office.
And I don't care about ISIS growing and gaining strength. That's an organic Middle Eastern Islamic movement having nothing to do with my life here in Arizona.
Don't stupidly invade nations for dumb reasons...like non existent weapons of mass destruction, and you won't leave power vacuums.
In any case, there was gonna be an Islamic takeover at some point regardless.
Since the plan was to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, you're right.
The more time goes by, the more correct Bush appears to have been on foreign policy. I truly think he was an honest patriot and him and his team were visionaries ahead of their time. Do you believe history will see him that way?

The Bush/Cheney Administration promised us an Iraq that would be a "shining beacon of democracy in the Middle East." Great? As great as Herbert Hoover.
currently the afghan military is a bout 190k personnel , yet all accounts say to be able to secure their OWN LAND they would need 350k personnel
currently they don't have the funding to operate their own military...
leaving now or too soon their own military security force would not be able to handle the Taliban which still exists and has been getting stronger again
leaving too soon is just setting up for failure and a need to return
but most politicians (both parties), along with the general populous don't understand that...they think...just leave, let them handle it....without realizing that by doing that what will happen is another 911 on our soil
It will take decades for Afghanistan and Iraq to be prepared, it's not just about funding in Afghanistan and funding was certainly not the issue in Iraq. The Taliban will be an integral part of Afghanistan and they will need to deal with them or continue fighting. It's already been over 10 years and neither country is close if we want to get involved in nation building there are plenty of more deserving areas, Somalia, Darfur.
So when does too soon come to an end, the American people don't want us involved in either country.
No doubt we will have another attack at some point, our invasions in these countries is not going to prevent another 911 but it will create more enemies.

And joe biden claimed iraq was the greatest achievement of Obama.
