Here's where that link leads: "How the Ultra-Rich .01% Have Sucked Up Even More of America's Wealth Than You Think"
The flaw in this headline (which is why it is pure propaganda) is that the "rich" don't "suck up" wealth; they create it. Wealth is something that is created. It is not finite, as the Leftists try to make people believe.
Isn't it funny that those who serve up this propaganda never seem to be bothered by the wealth of George Soros, who funds much of the Left. None have accused him of "sucking up" wealth, and thus preventing them from what they must believe is their "fair share."
Just like with most conservative policy positions, their position on the minimum wage makes no logical sense and isn't consistent.
Again the basic conservative position is that the minimum wage is a job killer, that can't be raised a single penny, but they dint want to repeal it.
So conservatives are ok with keeping and not repealing the minimum wage at $7.25, but increasing the minimum wage to $7.26, or $8.00 or $8.50 is courting economic disaster and they can't support that job killing minimum wage.
Then why aren't they trying to repeal it?
It's an absurd position and irrational, but it is the stated position of the conservative party.
I've changed my mind, and am inclined to support a raise to the minimum wage to $15 now. This $15 wage seems to be working in SeaTac, Washington without problem since January this year. I don't think $15 an hour will be the panacea for low skilled workers that the left thinks it will, because there aren't very many minimum wage workers, but it won't likely be the catastrophe the right believes either.
Gotta love the people that have forgotten we live in a free country. A country where you have the choice to work or not, to improve your skills or not, or move to another country where you think it's OK for the government to control every aspect of its citizen's lives.
You don't "believe" prices will increase? How could they not. Where will that money come from to pay for the increase in wages?
Well.....................
Quote:
American CEOs in 2013 earned an average of $11.7 million–an eye-popping 331 times the average worker’s $35,293.

the multiple more than doubles when compared to minimum wage workers; the average CEO in 2013 out-earned this group 774 times over.

Nice work, except it is "absurd and irrational." If the price of hamburger doubled, McDonalds would use less of it--substituting pork or chicken or something. Why can't you non-conservatives understand that labor, like any input, is subject to the laws of supply and demand? If the price of labor doubled, McDonalds would find a way to use less of it.
When the minimum wage went up 40% in 2007-2009, unemployment among the young, minorities, and other low-skilled groups skyrocketed. Look it up.
Repealing the minimum wage? It is a matter of choosing your battles. There are enough Democrats and other economically illiterate people to make repeal a difficult proposition, no matter how much sense it makes.
What is truly absurd is outlawing the sale of low-skill labor for its market value. This is the most pernicious and sneaky form of class warfare in our society today.

Look it up? ok....so lets assume you mean from jan 1 to dec in order to get the largest delta in the values.
$5.15-$7.25.
Now lets take a look...ages 18-24 from 2007-2009. yup they DID go up.....right at the end, not in 2007 or 2008....but in 2009. gosh what happened in 2009 that might have caused a raise in unemployment.......GASP oh yeah! the recession!
Another fun fact from those charts....when the minimum wage went up in 96 and 97....youth unemployment went down.
You have no clue what you are talking about, cherry picked data while ignoring multiple sets of contradictory data, and generally are not impressing me much.
Meanwhile, that middle aged woman goes home and eats cat food for dinner because that is all she can afford.
