I can't think of anywhere where $7.25/hour is a living wage.

Minimum wage is set to be the minimum. period. no matter the cost of living. MANY states have a minimum set higher. I live in one of those. Soooo...one minimum sets the base....and I dont know anywhere so cheap to live in that the current minimum is reasonable in.

The "im X why do I need Y in my insurance misses the point of group coverage entirely.

When minimum wage was $2.85 an hour, it wasn't a living wage.

Minimum wage is a perfect example of one size fits all.
What works in Luling Tx, one would starve in Dallas.

Funny thing is...back when it was $3.35/hr I did ok on it....and I wasn't in the cheapest of cities. I rented a small apartment, and was able to pay my bills. no car though.

Today?

Bwahahaha.

Seriously? The people I know making it are on food stamps, live as groups, or only rent a room. Minimum wage at $2.85 was livable.

Yes, and we keep asking for clarification but some here do not seem to like the fact that it is being asked, hmmm, I wonder why that is? Maybe the Op will come back and splain it some time.

We are still waiting for a decent and relevant example.
