Sanctions like laws are not enforceable unless passed by congress. After all you have to charge some one with breaking a passed and signed law. If he reaches a arms treaty then he has to go to congress or its mott. Iran wouldn't go for a MY Word promise from a president soon to be out of office. If not a treaty passed by congress its means nothing after Obama leaves like so many presidential actions. Iranians are not fools .

Notice that the OP never asks that question himself. I'd sure like to know.

Can't believe how some people are so hellbent on getting into a tussle with Iran...a tussle that we'll lose anyway.

Is he breaking any laws? No? So what's the problem. If Putin was doing stuff like this the cons would praise his leadership. I think your side's accusations of dictatorship has already been shown to be a joke, beyond a joke in fact, when you declared him a dictator for the "crime" of filling federal positions WHICH HE IS SUPPOSED TO DO

Congress passed some of them, some came to be through executive orders and many, especially banking/finance related ones, have been announced by the US Treasury. Common sense tells me that the authority to reduce the sanctions would depend on which sanctions are in question. Reading the articles it seems they are talking about the ones related to the Treasury Department, which operates under the White House.

Deflections and an attempt to change the subject, as neither of the issues you raise have one iota to do with topic of the thread by OP. Nor do you deny or offer rebuttal that "Unlawful Obama Will Bypass Congress On Iran Nuclear Deal" as the OP asserted.

Plenty of posters had already done that.

I'm expounding on another related question that you war hawks and serial Iran haters are seemingly afraid to answer...

Why should the U.S. have any beef with Iran to begin with, as they've done nothing to us.

Got an answer?

.

Not true, Iraq and Afghanistan wars were started without congress approval, so the President doesn't need any congress approval, the congress has the lowest rate of approval in the US history.
