Hardly pointless. Millions of BA and BS degrees are awarded each year. They're not the same. And believe me, employers know the difference. They know those who've a earned a BS degree have taken much more rigorous, and more, math and science classes than those with a BA. BS degree holders have been educated to think much more scientifically and quantitatively. BA holders have less formal education in those two areas.
