Another interesting result from this poll--I had always figured that Pres. Obama had a permanent floor of around 40% due to the loyal support of die hard partisan Democrats. Remember that W Bush got as low as around 26%, as even Republicans started to disapprove.

I interpreted that as a case of sheer blind partisanship, that D's would back a D no matter what.

It turns out that the real divide may be along racial lines. Obama's approval among whites is down to 30%, almost as low as W Bush got. But among non-whites Obama is 61%, and blacks @84%. That appears to be the real reason for his 40% floor.

Oh, you are an Obama supporter. I will help you out.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/page/2...eS4bRhKwoE4jQ#

Click the "tab" that says "show results by" - it is currently set to "registered voters" and change "registered voters" to "sex".

Once you do this simple maneuver - you will see that women approve of Obama at a rate of 39% and men 42%.

As an Obama supporter, you are probably complaining that I can't just do it for you, but there is no direct link - sorry you have to do the mouse click yourself. There isn't anything wrong with a little work now and then though.

Oh, silly Natalie!

As a democrat, you should care. I know, we must deflect all criticism and facts to protect Obama and you do a good job of it here. However, this constant deflection is what has made Obama so unpopular. The more we excuse his lies, easy to fulfill broken promises and etc....the more likely he is to give us those things and his popularity will fall further. You are part of Obama's problem.

Now, on to why you should care as a Democrat.

Obama is dragging down the Democrats. THe Republicans aren't up 8% on the Democrats because the GOP is that much better on the issues, they are up because Obama is toxic.

For many voters - Obama is on the ballot, his policies, his lies, his broken promises.

Obama can't fund raise or campaign effectively due to the toxic nature of himself - this hurts his party.

"I am not on the ballot this fall. Michelle’s pretty happy about that. But make no mistake: these policies are on the ballot. Every single one of them."
Of course, everyone on the left will say ....nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.....that does not mean nothing...well hell....to the left, unless it's bush...then it really does mean nothing....

Virtually all of the Obamabots, male and female, are getting money from the government, either directly or via organizations that exist because of federal money.

They're our era's version of looters.

Tina Brown: 'I Don't Think [Obama] Makes [Women] Feel Safe' [VIDEO] | The Daily Caller

The funny thing is, you could say it was women who put him in. Men voted for Romney 52-45. Women for Obama 55-44. Female voters also outnumbered males 53-47, so that was that.

It's tough to work up much sympathy for the fairer sex, since the 2012 vote took place AFTER the failure of the "stimulus," and AFTER the precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, and AFTER the enactment of 2700 page Obamacare on a pure party line vote, complete with arcane parliamentary trick in the Senate to get it done.
