I think it' s going to be up to the TAXPAYERS to stop this bull....elect only those who will stop this asinine spending... elect those who are in favor of term limits...reduced pay and NO benefits....this is NOT supposed to be a career...just a temporary, voluntary "help" to our country.
Wake us up when you find one candidate willing to vote themselves out of those things.

And here we see the left's inexplicable need to lie even when it's not necessary. The actual number is $806 billion according to the CRS, and would make the point perfectly well. But no, they can't resist the urge to prevaricate and nearly quadruple the number.
The other thing is that the Iraq war could have done some good for us, had we not precipitously withdrawn. It's just dumb to compare that to something like spending on Swedish massages for rabbits.
Good for him! I didn't realize the Senator was keeping up the legacy of another former senator (I can't recall his name; was it Scoop Jackson?) who used to publish a report every year detailing the more crazy expenditures.
