Sounds idiotic to me. Lets not hurt their feelings.
My sons league has a "skunk"rule, where if the score goes up by 5 TD or more, the game is just over. I feel like that rule isn't great, but its certainly not a fine.
The Gwinnett Football League president said that's not the truth.
Erik Richards said the team made a mockery of the game by laying on the ground, running off the field and mocking the other players. Richards said in essence, they showed unsportsmanlike conduct.
Richards said the fine for violating the mercy rule is $100. In some cases, Richards said the fine will be waived if it is a defensive play, similar to the play that was scored. Richards said he is glad that the media covered what happened because he wants it to be an example for other teams who he said show unsportsmanlike conduct, that they will be fined.
This is a good example of selective editing by the Washington Post and USA Today by not giving the league president one word in the league's defense in those articles. Bad on them.

A perfect example of the lazy sh*tty excuse for reporting that we have today.
Kid intercepts a pass and runs it back for the score, puts them over the 32 point mercy rule which gets the team a $500 fine and the coach suspended.
Should he stopped at the 1 yard line and dropped the ball?
Why don't they use a little logic and just say "Game Over" like they do in baseball?
They are turning our boys into a bunch of sissies. Give them all a trophy and send them home.
I guess someone forgot to tell TCU they needed to give the other team a chance!
Congratulations to Trevone Boykin who threw a school-record seven touchdown passes and No. 10 TCU showcased a new fast-paced offense by scoring the most points in its history in an 82-27 rout of Texas Tech on Saturday.
480 yards passing!!!
