The understatement last week came from a man accused by his raucous critics of everything but understatement.

Well, I can't speculate on why you imagined Tennesseans to be anything but well off, but this Tennessean is proud of our former VP. It's wonderful to see Al Gore recognized with such awards as the Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar, and now Tennessean of the Year.

I can't imagine anyone being more deserving.

Well, I can assure you it wasn't by popular majority!

Evidenced by failing to win his own state in the election.

And as far as someone more deserving, there's always Dolly Parton!

I am not from Tennessee, but I could not agree with you more. You can't keep a good man down.

Out of all the fine folks that Tennessee has, this is the one who got the award?! Good golly! Somebody call the authorities, I do believe the poll was rigged. Either that, or TN has it's own fair share of little old blue-haired ladies, who can manage five bingo cards, but not a ballot!
