The biggest effect will be that Pres. Obama will no longer be able to stack the courts with judges that will rewrite the law from the bench. Nor will he be able to get confirmed another Atty Gen who is on record as seeking to "brainwash" Americans.

Taking the Senate will be especially important should a SCOTUS seat become vacant during the next 2 years.

Legislation will still be difficult to get through the Senate due to the possibility of filibuster, as many have noted. The main task will be to continue the progress on spending that has been made since the GOP took the House in 2010, following the disastrous spending spike of 2008-2010 under Nancy Pelosi.

They will have two years until the presidential election..They will pass laws and revamp spending that improves things for the majority of Americans...After the Presidential elections the screwing of the people will resume.....And like Bush we will have 4 years of Obama bashing,,,and rightly so.

Its funny to see people who still believe there is a difference.
There is defiantly some overlap but you can't deny that there are structural differences between the two parties... There are major differences in Judicial philosophy, social stances, and opinions on minority representation...

To get Billary elected.

Once Billary is elected, she'll privatize Social Security as investments, and then seize your 401(k) accounts.

That takes you to 2024, at which point Iran will be primed for invasion and you'll elect a Republican president.

Guessing...

I assume there will be more subponeas, that will waste more tax payer money. They certainly won't get past 59 seats in the Senate, so the dems will certainly filibuster any effort to defund or repeal Obamacare.

Of course the same thing could be said if dems take control. Its obvious that neither party has much interest in working across the aisle to help the nation.
Oh, 'the we have to pass it to see what is in it" supporter suddenly asks what will we get??????

Stunning! absolutely stunning!!!

Don't worrry, we'll just have to elect them to see what they have. Take comfort in those words..... it worked before, why wouldn't it work now?

So what have the dems bought to the table? The dems can't even bring their proposals to the floor of the senate with Harry Reid suffocating every proposal.

What the repubs will bring is a senate swept clean of harry reid, anything beyond that is gravy.

Huh?

For the record, I don't like the affordable health care act, I'm not a huge fan of the federal government requiring I buy anything.

Republicans have done nothing with their time, from all of their political adds and debates I've watched, they aren't supporting change, just antiobama. I see no reason to vote for d or r

All deflection. Kind of like getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar and saying, "Everyone else does it!"

Democrats do the opposite.

Republicans even go as far to say "democrats punish the rich." You will never see a democrat handing the rich and corporations trillions of dollars like the republicans do.
