I remember nancy p talking about this couple years ago, she claimed that since illegal immigrants paid taxes, had children in our schools, they was part of the community and had a right to have a say in put government and local issues.

Yup. And they are going to vote for the Democratic-liberal hand that feeds them. Perpetual Democratic liberals in office. Does that answer your question?

And then there's this in North Carolina. Jame O'Keefe is at it again, outing Democrats who turn a blind eye (or even actively advocate) voter fraud.

Non-Citizens Are Voting | National Review Online
Quote:
North Carolina features one of the closest Senate races in the country this year, between Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan and Republican Thom Tillis. So what guerrilla filmmaker James O’Keefe, the man who has uncovered voter irregularities in states ranging from Colorado to New Hampshire, has learned in North Carolina is disturbing. This month, North Carolina officials found at least 145 illegal aliens, still in the country thanks to the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, registered to vote. Hundreds of other non-citizens may be on the rolls.

A voter-registration card is routinely issued without any identification check, and undocumented workers can use it for many purposes, including obtaining a driver’s license and qualifying for a job. And if a non-citizen has a voter-registration card, there are plenty of campaign operatives who will encourage him or her to vote illegally.

Will a few voters be denied? Sure. That happens when the law changes. The man featured in the article has plenty of time to get his voting credentials straightened out for the next election.

Polls show strong support nationally for voter ID laws. Since the majority is NOT conservatives many left of center also support voter ID.
There's substantial evidence that ID laws prevent voting, for exactly the sorts of reasons illustrated in this article about a guy who definitely won't be able to vote this year. You're just being deliberately obtuse.

My 15 yr old son was flying to new york in a group and needed a state id. It took about 30 minutes to get it and cost nothing. Proof of residency, birth cert was all that was needed. So why cant minorities get a id? Saying they cant is a racist statement. Its saying they are too dumb to do it. Whos been saying that? The dems!

And his proof of residency? A kids sports illustrated with his name on it and our address.

Read the article a few posts above to see exactly why not everyone is as lucky as your 15 yr old son. Not only does not everyone have such easy access to proof of residency or a birth certificate, but even going to get it can A) Take far longer than 30 minutes if you are in a poor area and lack a car, and B) can cost an exorbitant amount of money to a person who earns barely enough to live on.

Saying "they" can't (and not everyone in this boat is a minority, but almost all are poor) isn't racist, it's just awareness of the facts. Just because something is easy for middle class white people doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.

It is not only illegals, but people who have never registered to vote but are citizens. It is also criminals who have had their right to vote taken away. There are other examples as well, but it all adds up to one thing.
They believe that most of the aforementioned will be more likely to vote (D), therefore they want to get as many as they can(legal or not) to vote.
You could bet your life that if a bunch of illegals were coming in from say Austria and tended to vote for (R's), they would be demanding voter ID to prevent voter fraud.

If these "poor" people work, they need to have an ID. If these "poor" people are on public assistance, they need an ID. Problem solved- they already have one. And you yourself are stating in your post, "Just because something is easy for middle class white people doesn't mean it's easy for everyone."[/quote] That in itself is a racist statement! LOL

If they drive they need id if they get pulled over. The only ones without are people who shouldnt be here.

And you can order a birth certificate for your child or yourself online. You can go to a library to use internet if you dont have that. If you dont have a address how would you vote? So you must have one of those too.

Uh... we don't. You just think that because Fox Spews tells you we think that.

Do both sides support the same policies on taxation, abortion, immigration, global warming, education, labor unions, Israel, etc? No, they do not. Saying both parties are the same is just lazy thinking.
OH PLEASE!

Lazy thinking is picking a side based solely on ideology, and giving no thought to outcomes and what's best for the country. It's completely self-centered.

Lazy thinking is believing that changing out millions of full time jobs for part time jobs is a success.

Lazy thinking is believing that the economy is doing well with record numbers of people on welfare, and the lowest work participation rate in decades.

Lazy thinking is believing the government can solve not just some things, but everything.

Lazy thinking is believing the last administration is the reason this administration has failed.

Insane thinking is believing we are better now than we were six years ago.

We'll see if there's any common sense left in just five days. But, I have a feeling that when the Pubs sweep into power, liberals like yourself will take the lazy way out; pontificating why Americans are so stupid and holding firm to your failed reasoning, rather than facing reality.

I'm not a Republican, but your tortured uber-partisan logic is mind boggling.
