Violent crime being the only legitimate one. Sadly police committing such violent crimes on we regular folk has become pretty commonplace.

Problem is some of these prostitutes are victims of the sex slave industry. While I have no problem with legalized prostitution, I do have a problem with kidnapping girls, beating and repeatedly raping the girl to break her mentally and physically, then force her to work on the streets or in a brothel.

There is no "sex slave industry" in the Seattle area, and probably not in the US. I used to have some friends who were in the 'Asian Massage' business. There was no coercion, beatings, rapes, or kidnappings like in the movies, other than on the part of police.

If such enslavement does occur, of course we all want police and prosecutors to go after it, but generally they don't. There's not enough of it to justify the existence of a vice squad, so instead they go after consenting adults. Washington state passed a trafficking (slavery) law in 2003. It wasn't until around 2010 that there was a conviction under this law, and AFAIK there has been one other conviction since, for a grand total of two convictions in 11 years.

I think prostitution should be decriminalized.

This is why I highly recommend that those interested in prostitution travel overseas to partake in this activity. Not worth the risk in the US.

Cops are nothing but prostitutes themselves. This reeks of hypocrisy.

If it is sex between two consenting adults why is it a crime, even if one is paying money for it. Prostitution should be entirely legal. Who a person has sex with, and whether or not they pay/ or are paid money for it is the parties involved business. The government is not a party in that at all, and it should never be.

In the past couple decades sex between consenting adults has become a focal point for police. Even the FBI has enthusiastically gone the vice squad route.

Prostitution should be legalized. Then the .gov could tax it and collect revenue. Then all of the "Undocumented Sex Professionals" could come out of the shadows and stop being afraid.
