I had to make sure I wasn't reading "The Onion".

Quote:
"Here in the United States of America, police should not be bullying and arresting reporters who are just doing their jobs. The local authorities [in Ferguson], including police, have a responsibility to be transparent and open." President Barack Obama was quoted as saying during the period of unrest.
Obama, Holder demand transparency from cops in Ferguson - National Law Enforcement | Examiner.com

This coming from someone, Obama, who knows about suppressing the media:

Quote:
In unprecedented criticism of the White House, 38 journalism groups have assailed the president's team for censoring media coverage, limiting access to top officials and overall “politically-driven suppression of the news.”

In a letter to President Obama, the 38, led by the Society of Professional Journalists, said efforts by government officials to stifle or block coverage has grown for years and reached a high-point under his administration despite Obama's 2008 campaign promise to provide transparency.

The administration has dismissed similar charges from other journalism groups, notably the White House Correspondents’ Association, but the new letter sent Tuesday provided several examples of censorship and efforts to block reporter access. Among them:

• Officials blocking reporters’ requests to talk to specific staff people.

• Excessive delays in answering interview requests that stretch past reporters’ deadlines.

• Officials conveying information "on background" — refusing to give reporters what should be public information unless they agree not to say who is speaking.

• Federal agencies blackballing reporters who write critically of them.

This administration may be qualified to teach on it after their term is done from experience alone.

I will be submitting commentary in the form of a ballot later today.

There have been several prominent longtime WH reporters who have remarked on the Orwellian nature of this WH.

The only thing keeping this WH from utter collapse is the clever manipulation of race politics, and that's why they are so interested in Ferguson. Job approval rating for Pres. Obama is 30% among whites, 61% among non-whites, and 84% among blacks.

This. people that think that this administration has any shred of honesty and transparency are drinking their own bath water.

Behind the Curtain: Obama, the puppet master - POLITICO.com

Ann Compton just retired from ABC; she covered the white house from age 27 to age 67. Her career spanned 7 presidents. Here's what she said about the Obama admin:

It's not about releasing information during the investigation. Try reading the entire article.

One would think the Attorney General of the United States would know that.
