As long as the Republicans never have 60 seats in it, then the Senate majority is doing just fine.

Only with liberal math is 52 GOP-45 DEM a majority. I hope the Democrats obstruct because it'll make them look even worse.

And it begins...as long as the Republicans don't have 60 seats! Never mind that their President has been toxic in his repeated attempts to insert himself and his policies are sinking his own candidates races.

Yes that would be a majority for the Republicans, not sure what math you are using.

Thought last time I checked 52 seats is less than 60 seats and currently Republicans think it is only Reid who stops bills because he is the majority leader, what are you Republicans gonna think when those same bills are stopped with McConnell as majority leader?

I believe that only a simple majority is required to pass a budget. That would be the first step.

Boy, two gubernational victories in New England sure is a mandate. Let's repeal every bit of progressive legislation ever put in place! The GOP's future gains won't be a shock to me and other liberal-leaning folk. It's a continuation of a historical trend - that the incumbent president's party tends to suffer losses in the mid-terms. Most of these senate races are in reliably conservative states anyway.

You haven't done anything positive that would remotely suggest that you deserve to govern this country. You are at the bottom with the GOP. Welcome to your new low.

DADT and DOMA are dead in the water. Pre-existing conditions as a condition of coverage is gone. Children (up to age 26) have health insurance through parents. Bin Laden is dead and Al Qaeda is a joke. Reduced the federal budget deficit. Stock market and other economic factors trending positive. Unemployment trending negative. I could go on. But please do tell us, chicken littles on this board, how nothing positive has been done.

Why did the Democrats not run on these accomplishments by the President?

Quite well. No loss of insurance coverage or doctors in my coverage network since ACA was signed into law. No drastic premium increase either.

Many democrats in congress are afraid to show some pride in their accomplishments and their party. It has been a problem for some time now.
