The fact that Obama really believes that he understands what the American people really want is proof that he is blinded by his own arrogance. Worse still is that he may actually think that he is like a father and he is doing what we the people need for our own good. As if a man who has never been in business and has always had someone paving the way for him might know what the average American needs or wants.
Idealists can be dangerous people.
While I don't agree on the Fed, I do think you may have a point about not defending their positions. Over the years, we have seen both parties run from their respective presidents and that strategy may be counterproductive in the end. It reinforces the message of the other side that the President is wrong; their party is wrong. Had Dems embraced and promoted Obamacare instead of heading for the woods at the first hint of controversy, for example, public perception might be very different.
Well, all the crowing GOPers who still offer no constructive ideas for the country certainly haven't, eh? Perhaps in the next 2 years they'll learn the truth in the adage: Payback's a beeyitch
No constructive ideas?
1. lower personal taxes
2. lower business taxes
3. reduced regulations
4. energy exploration on federal lands
5. stopping the war on coal\
6. repealing Obamacare
7. reducing class action suits
8. limiting the non-legislated powers of the EPA
9. enforcing immigration laws
10. repatriating $2 trillion in US assets held overseas
Gee............... that is just a start. Reid has blocked every piece of legislation sent to him. FINALLY, the government will start to work as it should without the far left obstruction. Obama, of course, will veto everything. However, those dems voting not to override his vetos will be thrown out of office in the next election cycle.
I should have added the little sarcastic to that post.
Raising the MW will not create jobs for all those new visitors we have streaming into the US.
Let's see if Obama can actually work with people to get something done. I doubt it.
Little do they know it won't keep the maid or burger flipper working either......bad move, when people don't know which side their bread is buttered on.
I basically said the same thing yesterday and it's the best thing that could happen to republicans. Obama and the democrats take the fall for it and republicans don't have to lift a finger.
In 2016 we get a republican president and congress, just don't screw it up like they did back in the early 2000's.

All I read here is "help the rich, trickle down economics will really work this time! We promise!"
Considering the GOP's lack of any constructive ideas for the country, choosing instead an avowed program of obstructionism and nothing else, expecting to now be kowtowed to and have rose petals line their path is the ultimate expression of RW hypocrisy and lack of contact with reality.
What goes around comes around, deal with it.
Let Obama just try it, and we will see the IDIOT in the Whitehouse having to deal with impeachment hearings for the remainder of his pathetic term.
That will leave a lasting legacy of abject FAILURE on this tool.
BTW you Liberals will have to " Deal with it" LOL !!!!
