  • With a nine-seat gain and most likely more, House Republicans will have close to 245 seats, the largest Republican majority since the Truman administration.

  • The Democrats lost atleast 7 seats in the Senate (possibly 12)...giving the Republicans the majority

  • The Republicans took Maryland, Arkansas, Illinois and Massachusetts in Gubernatorial races

  • Mia Love is the first black female Republican ever elected to office

  • Tim Scott is the first African American to ever had been elected to both the House and the Senate, and the first to win a Senate election in the south since the reconstruction era, and he is a Black Republican.

  • As of November 2, 2014 Obama's Presidential Approval rating is 42%

Is it safe to say that the Democratic Party is "out of touch" with America?

And if so, what can they do to put together a relevant platform to become more inclusive?

Will they EVER win another election after this "shallacking" that they took on November 4th?

Will Obama have a beer summit with Mitch McConnell and work it out?

Agreed-

The nation under Obama has-

1. lower incomes
2. more unemployed
3. more living in poverty
4. more living off of foodstamps
5. higher energy costs

When one's standard of living is falling, NO ONE CARES ABOUT-

1. gay marriage
2. the fake "war on women"
3. the fake "global warming" hoax

Further, even in far left states, MOST CITIZENS OPPOSE OBAMA'S PENDING AMNESTY PUSH.

Wake up- citizens want to be employed and be able to provide for their families. That is issue #1. Libs have failed to understand this and have pandered to the psychotic far left fringe, rather than seeking to cut taxes, renegotiate poor trade agreements, and cut regulations to allow people to prosper.

But, but, but... the 2/3 of people who didn't bother to vote voices matter at least as much, if not more. So there.

Many Dems have turned Progressive. America is not ready for Progressives to run the country.

Since the approval rating for Congress is only 22%,and the people will now have to suffer another 2 years of GRIDLOCK,PARTISAN POLITICS, and the PARTY WITHOUT A PLAN, it is now guaranteed that a Democrat will win the White house in 2016!

Oh Jesus H. Christ. Every four years the "American electorate" gets "fed up" with the Democrats/Republicans, and "sweeps them out".... only to have whomever gets in power FAIL to produce anything of value... and leading to the next cycle of "sweep outs" where partisan hacks from either the right or the left can proclaim, "Americans have spoken! They reject GOP/Democratic policies! We are the future"......

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

And yet despite all this, Congress as a whole still has an 80% disapproval rating, and Republicans are still less popular than Democrats overall.

That's what happens when 65+ old people are the majority voting and the rest of the 2/3 of the country didn't bother to vote.

Can't say that will happen in 2016 though. Young people don't give a crap about midterms.

this is what a lot of people said after the last time the GOP got knocked out.

it's a cycle. and will happen to the GOP again, and to the Dems again.

I so wish we had more parties.

Regardless of party, the 2014 election was a vote against the status quo. Democrats happened to be the biggest victims. I think deservedly so.

The 2016 election could be the same thing. But we don't yet know what the status quo will be. If the GOP chooses to take the high road and put meaningful legislation in front of Obama, it will be the Dems suffering again in 2016.
