What exactly does GOP stand for, google gives too many variations of the meaning ?

it is like the "liberal" party. the liberal party of old used to stand for liberty and less government, they were considered what the Constitution party and the libertarian party would be today.

now the liberal party is considered more like the socialist party or the communist party and wants liberty for nobody bu their own.
