More and more... cops have become revenue generators. The fact that a cop can lie to you and try and trick you, only reinforces that.

How many cops killed innocent people in the last 5 years?

Agreed. The only ones they seem interested in protecting and serving these days, is themselves.

Except that we have this little thing called the 4th Amendment, which ensures our right to privacy, and does not allow for unlawful searches and seizures! Better yet! Here's a thought, end this stupid drug war, and perhaps cops will stop shaking people down in traffic stops looking for an easy pay day!

Proof please, convince me all half a million US police officers are just revenue generators and are only interested in protecting and serving themselves.

Whose right to privacy?

Their profession includes detaining and killing people if necessary. We now have the technology to further determine if something is necessary. I know the fear is that an officer may be disciplined by either the force or a political agitator if he is caught on camera doing something politically incorrect and I don't know how to safe guard against that. Perhaps as a beginning step the recording only begins when an officer pulls a weapon. Be it not just a firearm but their baton, pepper spray, or handcuffs.

That's the funny thing: They don't count those, only "justified" shootings. Yet another reason cameras would help.

How many police shootings a year? No one knows - The Washington Post

Really? Please don't be obtuse. I mean, it's apparent you blindly worship cops, and they can do no wrong in your eyes, but some of us still value our Constitutional rights and don't want to further the police state. Furthermore, when you take the oath to protect and serve, you are swearing that you will uphold the law, and therefore being a civil servant you are held to a higher standard.

Cameras don't just start by themselves, you usually have to press the record button.
