You can't make a moral argument against what another person does as long as it doesn't initiate force on another.
Cancer rates are higher in taller folks. Sunnier climates see more skin cancer cases. Show the same contempt for tall people living in Albuquerque or L.A. as you do for overweight people.
Cancer rates are not directly linked the height to the same extreme as obesity is to diabetes, hypertention, depression, heart disease, joint / muscle pain, back problems, etc.
False equivalency.

Yes, it is my problem. You raise health care costs for everyone else.
Keep dreaming up excuses for fat people being fat. 99% of the time, it is their own freaking fault. I'm not here to play nice guy.
Again, why isn't obesity an epidemic in developing countries?
Human beings are not meant to be fat. This is clearly a Western, 1st world, 20-21st century phenomenon.
How can you have pity for overweight folks, but rail on poor folks?
Hypocrisy.
"Overweight or fat" can be a very subjective term. By the proper definition of obesity for example, more then half the linebackers in the NFL would be obese. Muscle weighs more then fat but those guys have a lot of excess flab also. There is nothing wrong with being somewhat over weight as long as you exercise and there are plenty of overweight people that work out and maintain good health. So the ones that are fat and do no exercise are the lazy ones.
I was looking at some pictures from the 50's, 60's and early seventies. Pre fast food for the most pasrt.....at least a time when fast food (sic) wasn't what "everyone" eats and calls it a bona fide meal.
The people were nearly 100% lean. Nary a fatty amongst them.
Is it hard to resist the tantalizing trans fats? Yes. Just like it is not easy to get up off the couch and go do something strenuous instead of having minor portions of your brain "entertained" by advertising driven drivel.
But tough people do it. Slackers sit there and gobble down crap, adding to their "waste line".
And yes, fatties are ugly to look at. Down right disgusting in many cases. Especially the ones who are only 30 or 40 pounds overweight and think they can fit into a pair of stretch pants. Major yikes. Those in the 300 and up group are just plain revolting to the eyes.
The good news? They die more quickly, and maybe, just maybe, their legacy to their children will be to take off the pounds and get started on leading a healthy life style.
Apologies to those (few) who have a bona find medical problem.

I see. So you get to set the correlation percentage necessary to universally ban/legislate for all of us. That's one of the more over-the-top statist positions I've seen on these boards...which is saying something.
"Health care costs" is a manmade paradigm. It has no bearing on anything. If you want to "ban" large soda sizes like they tried to in NYC you should just "ban" life because both raise health care costs.

No, there are not plenty of "overweight" people that workout and maintain good health. What fantasy are you living in? Why don't those "good health" overweight people exist in developing countries?
Football linebackers are "overweight" using the erroneous BMI scale. A better scale is body fat percentage, which most of them fall within the healthy range.

Freedom is an all or nothing proposition.
You're a strain on the system by being fat.
Strawman: By exaggerating, misrepresenting, or just completely fabricating someone's argument, it's much easier to present your own position as being reasonable, but this kind of dishonesty serves to undermine honest rational debate.

It's not a strawman.
Those with dementia are a "drain" on the system too.
Kill old people?
You are arbitrarily choosing which factors to focus on that impact a manmade paradigm.
It's a prime example of the self-centered statist attitude that prevails in this world. I don't care how personal choices impact an involuntary system anyway. It's absurd.
I just love it when the so-called liberal compassion shows it's true colors
Correct, I have no compassion for people who are fat and complain about being fat. Stop eating everything in sight and get on the stairmaster. Popping pills and feeling sorry for yourself doesn't make obesity acceptable.

Another false equivalency.
Dementia is not caused by being lazy and eating crap. Dementia is most likely not preventable. Obesity is almost 100% preventable. If obesity was natural, why isn't it seen in the developing world?
You just won't answer my quesiton, will you?
