Not everything, but many things use or are manufactured using oil....You have to admit though that at 46% of all oil products, gasoline is by far the largest use of oil.
We have tossed the idea around of buying an older,large fifth wheel camper(bigger they are,the cheaper they get) and setting it up in the woods back at the end of our property..build a porch on it,set a picnic area and firepit up so the kids would have a hangout(away from the house) and we could use it when company comes in from out of town to hunt..I would like to get a solar setup to just charge the batteries on it.
Not hard to do, just check out how on a RV full timer board and you'll get plenty of ideas.

What is the point you are trying to make? What implications are you talking about?
I have noticed that many of the same folks that deny AGW also seem to be anti solar power in any form, and looking at the light bulb thread also are defending old wasteful technology.
